MEET THE TEAM
Catherine Keeler
Our head cheesemaker is Catherine Keeler. Born in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Catherine earned a degree in French from the University of Prince Edward Island, and headed straight to France, where she trained as a cheese master and learned cheese production. She returned to Nova Scotia with her husband, a French chef, started a family, and joined us. Catherine is passionate about using the skills she learned in France to make unique cheeses that capture the terroir of her homeland, Nova Scotia.
Gina Haverstock
Originally from Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Gina was studying biochemistry and planning on a medical career when she took a part-time job at Jost winery. She fell in love with wine, and changed course. Today, she is the head winemaker for Devonian Coast wineries, which produces several major Nova Scotia wine brands, including Jost, Gaspereau, Mercator and Lüvo. Gina now also leads our team in exploring novel ingredients and flavour combinations. She feels that fresh and tangy cheeses like our "Terroir" pair perfectly with Nova Scotia wines.
Sean Myles
Sean hails from Fredericton, New Brunswick. He is a professor at Dalhousie University specializing in agricultural research aimed to help local fruit growers. He and Gina founded the Annapolis Cider Company in Wolfville, and made it one of Nova Scotia's leading cider brands. They sold the company in 2021. Sean developed his love of cheese while a high school exchange student in Switzerland, and he now looks forward to making Swiss alpine-style cheeses in Nova Scotia.
